We have a 2012 Hunter 39 with ST60+ speed , depth and wind instruments and a Fusion CD PLAYER. These are mounted in the coming above the hatch slider.
How do you get access to the back of these instruments? From inside by removing the headliner? Or do I have to remove the complete Fiberglas cover that these instruments are attached to, which means I have to remove my dodger.
Thanks

Very good question and have wondered that myself. Have a Hunter 38 and for the most part it's the same boat except you have a few inches of boat. I kind of assumed you had to carefully cut the sealant that holds the instruments and in my case a radio/CD player in place and then pull them out of the pod.

Hope someone has actually done this and has an answer. Otherwise maybe someone at Hunter or a dealer can answer it.

Call Hunter

I did email Eddie Breeden at Marlow Hunter and he hooked me up
with one of the guys who builds the Hunters and I spoke with him
and he gave me great advice about how to do what you want.
I have found email the best way to get in touch with him for info.

I installed an ST 60 wind repeater in mine. I removed the f-g cover. The deck is continuous in this area and the coming is a separate piece that fastens over top, at least on my 33. Eddie would know for sure.

The "open area" in the cover was covered from below with fibreglass, so had to also cut out some of this to access the mounts for the instrument. The radio and instruments will somehow be bolted from behind to hold them in place.

I have a 38 and have replaced the instruments in the seahood. Its easy to remove. Take out the screws holding it down and lift it up. Make sure to caulk the screws well when you reattach it.
