Okay, please someone tell me just where the packing shaft is on the 30? Do I have to remove the access board in the quarterberth to get to it? Or is it a few inches aft of the transmission accessible in the galley area? I am not really sure. Thanks Bob

Packing gland access
On my 96 C30 mkIII, there is a access panel in the galley floor just aft of the access panel to the coupling and transmission. It is easier to use if you remove the companion way ladder. Packing size should be 3/16ths. Fair winds Dave

Packing gland access on 77
I have a 77 Cat 30 and there is a small rectangular inspection hatch in the cabin sole just aft of the gally sink area. It gives excellent access to the shaft and packing gland. Hope that helps.
