Anyone have an electrical access port in the base of their mast?
Thinking about doing this to my 71 Col 34/II-sure would make cable maintenance easier- Researched forums on other boats and thinking about a 1.5" circular hole about 8" up on the flat side of the mask and cover it with a 6061 plate with pop rivets securing the cover (don't like that idea but can't think of a better way to attach the plate blind (aka- I ain't going to restep the mast for this, its an old boat and that kind of stuff ALWAYS gets me in trouble). Any comments/thoughts would be helpful!
