They were built in my 'backyard' - Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. I worked on one decades ago. Very solidly built with solid glass hull; no core to worry about. Definitely 'classic plastic'.

Sailboatdata lists the ballast for the Acadian Paceship 30' as iron or lead.

This article [Review of Acadian 30 - www.yachtdatabase.com] suggests the keel is iron, but then immediately compares iron ballast to lead ballast, leaving me unclear as to whether lead is an option on the Acadian 30.
