I'm looking for ideas on how other Vision 32 owners have run duct work for ac. I moved the hot water heater farword so that the compressor could be installed were the water use to be. I'm pretty sure the state room duct work can be run behind the galley. But were do you install the vents for the main salon without losing any storage space? I know I'm asking a lot with that last statement. Thanks, JIm Moonraker

vision ducts

on our 89 V32, the ac unit is under the settee in front of the v-berth. ducts run under the v-berth to the teak panel at the front of the berth, back behind the galley into the closet for the aft cabin....as to the main salon- a duct is boxed in with teak going up between the openings into the v-berth, the backrest cushion here has been cut and redone so that it ends against this teak box that covers the duct. an adjustable vent blows straight towards the companionway.

Vision 32 ac

Howard, Thanks for responding to my questions. I have a couple more; what size/model ac unit is in your boat and does it perform well? I have thinking about a 16000 btu Mermaid unit. Also was the water heater moved to the storage area next to the mast (port or starboard) or was it put somwhere else? Thanks, Jim

King Air

We have a 16M btu King Air reverse cycle unit. works great-keeps the boat cool on 100deg summer days as long as we keep the cover over the windshield. We stay on the boat weekends year round and the heat works really well also. Our water heater is under the starboard mattress cushion of the v-berth

Thanks

Thanks for the info Howard, I'm also going with the 16,000 btu unit and a new cover for the windshield.
