I have checked the Archives and found numerous ideas about where to install the shore power connection (inside the storage locker, on the transom under the tiller, on the bulkhead as you look forward from the cockpit). I have a couple ideas about the breaker panel (above the stove, under the DC panel) but I am looking for what other people have done when installing shore power on a 23.5 and 240 and the pros and cons of each. I would be interested in what his craziness has done in the past, relating to shore power installation that is.;) Thanks, Jonathan

Below DC panel

Jonathan, I installed my panel below the DC panel. Depending on the size of your AC panel you may have to move your DC panel higher. I had to with the AC panel I got. I put my shore power receptacle just under the aft navigation light. This was a good location since you can access the back of it fairly easily, and it is within 10 ft of the AC panel (Max distance to a main breaker). Also I put a galvanic isolator just after the shore power enters the boat. With respect to mounting the AC panel, I added 3 ft of wire all the DC circuits to be able to move them out of the way of the back of the AC panel. From the AC panel, I ran the AC wires down behind the carpet, then through a hole cut in the sole under the aft bunk (insulate against chaffe). I then covered the wire with a conduit and fiberglassed it all to protect it. You can see the panel location in the photo forum from my air conditioning install. It's the last picture. Id be happy to answer an ?s you have.

DC Breaker Panel

Check this idea. Not as convenient as putting next to the DC panel but was simple to install and close to where I installed the shorepower inlet.
