above the waterline hull paint

looking for hull paint, got the bottom paint and i see lots of 'topside' marine paint, is there a special paint for above the waterline hull? or is that the same as topside paint?

Do you plan on painting the hull? Or are you talking about the boot stripe?

"topsides" means the hull. above the sheer is the deck. i was confused at first too.

Yeah, painting the hull, actually re-touching worn spots, also have a boot stripe, painting the deck too, for that matter. PO had used marine paint he got from lowes, they don't seem to carry it anymore, at least not the three lowes I've been to. Since I can't really color match the paint thought I would just go over the entire hull. If I can get a close match I'll just touch up.

I used 1 part poly (Blue Water) on the hull and 2 part poly (Interthane Plus, replaced by Perfection) on my decks. The 2 part is still great but the 1 part failed miserably.
The boot and cove stripe are auto paint because I couldn't find bronze marine paint. This paint also looks great and the stuff flowed like magic when I put it on with a cheap Harbor Freight brush!
