My Garmin GPS 72 uses 2 AA cells in about 14 hours. I am a tightwad so I bought some rechargables. The first set was Eveready and I was disappointed. They self discharge in a couple of weeks. So I bought some Duracell brand and have been very pleased. I charged both the pair of evereadys and a pair of duracells and put them aside while my other pair of duracells was working. The cycle is on and off for about three weeks before they die. Today the evereadys wouldn't start the GPS but the duracells showed a full charge. The evereadys work perfectly if they are taken from the charger and put in service. Have others here had any experience with these?

Ross, have you considered a 12 volt adapter and run it off of your house batteries. I have the 72 and have had good results with that.

The edit feature works easily enough.

Well ,I have considered it.

Have you considered a sherpa or a llama?
But what do I do with the beast on the boat? Not like Lyle Lovett " If I had a pony I'd ride him on my boat". It ain't that big.
