My 1975 Peason 30 Which I just purchased, has been on the hard for more than three years. I am working on some solution for freeing up the engine, and have not been doing very well.

As a last resort, I am considering replacement with a short block offered by Don Moyer.

The question is;

Does anyone know what procedure I should follow to pull this little 300 lb guy out from under the Galley? Where I come from, they say "measure twice and cut once". So before I leap into this I need some cheerful encouragement from others that have been where I am now.

Thanks

a4 removal

Ive already removed and deap sixed 2 of these. Its a 2 man job
First unbolt the shaft from rear of the engine. 2nd free up and remove all
motor mount bolts. 3 get a chain and secure it around the engine 4 get a huge timber brace it securely on the cockpit sole attach a come along to the chain
and timber. get someone in the rear with some wedges and a hammer to ease things along in case things get sticky move the engine forward slowly with the come along. After you get the engine out onto the cabin sole your gonna need a gallows on deck. Reposition your chain and use the come along to lift the engine up through the companionway on deck. Good Luck
One more thing: This is not a job for a beginner.
