A23 Centerboard pivot pin

I have not seen the insides of an Aquarius 23 Ketch. I have removed a fair share of pins from various type of small boats with centerboards.

Perhaps if you can share images of the CB and the area the pin is located we may be able to help.

Well...on the portside the pin is about 3/8th dia and threaded. On the stbd side it is a half inch ss pin with no head for a tool. no room for vice grip or the like. So it looks like its a ss 1/2 inch round with one end turned down and threaded.Would post pics but now cant find my phone. What if I just drilled it out with a 1" hole saw and used a ss 1" solid round? Id like to go bigger. This is my first centerboard boat.

ok...its out. They cut the head off of a bolt. Thats why I saw threads. Im gonna double the size. 1".

Not sure why you feel the need for a 1" pin. I would think 5/8 or 3/4 would ne more than enough. It is a pivot point for the CB.

The 1/2 has worked since 1975...... why bother upgrading as it seems to have been engineered just fine. Or is there more to it??
