A "what's it worth" question- Edson pedestal.

Not looking to sell anything here but I have an Edson pedestal set up that I took of of my Macgregor 26S. it has a Teleflex type cable set up. Include the wheel, guard and all the hardware hat was used to install it on the Mac, no engine controls, it has a compass but it has leaked dry so I don't figure that has much value.

It's just collecting dust in my shop right now but a friend of a friend has expressed an interest in it.

My problem is that I have absolutely no idea what, if anything it might be worth.

Anyone have any ideas or can point me in the right direction? I only

The value would depend on the condition it is in. Lack of engine controls lowers the value. I'm about to post for sale a totally reconditioned Orion pedestal, 27" destroyer wheel, custom refitted with Edson controls, wheel brake, cables and brand new idler pulley assembly for what I consider the dirt cheap price of $1,300.00. That will not even come close to covering my costs.

i have seen them posted on ebay over the past 5 years anywhere from 600.00 to 1000.00 in decent looking shape...not sure what they sold for.....

Just a quick quote. You have more money in the reconditioning of the pedestal.
But from my experience it is a specialty item with a limited market. You may have to wait awhile to get your asking price. Good luck and I hope you sell it.
