Warren, That is very good advise and a
nice look at the future. Most of the bench marks used of map and chart making are established on land and everything on the water take its position reletive to the bench marks. I can remember reading that during world war 2 some navy navigators determined the some of the island harbors were charted several miles from their actual positions. I think that in the days of sailing ships if you got close enough to see it that was good enough.
