A pain in the leak!!

Hello fellow Cherubinin OwnersI have a leak problem just aft of the clothes lockers both port and starboard sides. The leaks drip down the hull right against the wood work of the lockers. These leaks get my cushins wet every time it rains. I am about to jump over board. Not really I love my Cherubinin. I own the version that has the sloped cabin top. First time I sail her "The Rose" I new I got a real bargin. Does anyone or has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to stop it. Thank youMac McComishS/S The Rose

rail bolts

The bolts that hold the rail need to be tightened every few years. The rail may even need rebedding but try the bolts first

the thru bolts for the stanction bases

I found my leak around the stanction base for the lifeline by putting water on the deck, start at the lowest part of the deck first, working your way higher a little at a time. All the while have someone with a good light watching the bolts along the inside. I my case I found the fresh water had rotted away some of the core, making it difficult to tighten the thru bolt enough to stop it. Mix some git-rot and work it into any spaces, after it sets, drill out just the right size hole for the thru bolt and use some compound to seal your new bolt as you put in it. Also check the tightness of the wood hand rails on the cabin top, if any are loose the water gets into the core and can drip inside the headliner and appear lower inside anywhere. Use the same fix as above. Good luck.

I used Lifecaulk (polysulfide)

I removed all stanchions and rebedded with lifecaulk polysulfide sealant. I have been told that it will set up under water, so what could be better for sealing stanchion bases? I did it about a year ago. It has been successful so far.
