Is your outboard electric start? If it is, that should charge the battery. Otherwise, go with a little solar panel. Check Main Sail's forum on picking out one to use and installing it. You probably don't need a very big one.

My outboard is just a little pull-start Evinrude 2-stroke, so I'll research the solar panel option...

I use a 7.5 watt solar panel. It keeps the battery from losing a charge, but probably would not replenish it after a night of using the lights. I take it home in mid season and charge it.

Update in case anybody is still reading this posting... Had second round of laser surgery on "bad" eye, minor improvement but still not able to read with that eye. Am driving again, but limit it to daytime only. We pulled the O'Day from the lake last Friday... sad actually cuz never got to step the mast, or run up the new sail, or spend long carefree days on the water enjoy the sun and wind and gentle waters.... NEXT YEAR! I did manage to flip over the HiLu twice and send a pair of glasses to the bottom of the lake!!
