A new tiller

Hello there!
Last fall I made a bit of a booboo and dropped my tiller as I was climbing down from the boat. It fell some 1 meter onto asphalt and broke cleanly in two. Apparently it had broken in the past and had been repaired.

Luckily a friend of mine is studying to be a carpenter, and agreed to manufacture me a new tiller from teak and all that other good stuff, under the watchful eye of his teachers. The tiller is almost finished, just lacking a few more coats of varnish.

To the point: My friend informed me that as he now has everything setup, he might be able to easily make a couple of more tillers. The price is still a question mark, though.

So, if any of you are interested in getting a new tiller for your boats, I'm sure you could negotiate a fair deal with him.

I'll try and get him to post some photos of the completed item online for your perusal.

Almost worth dropping the tiller to get a replacement like that.

Beautiful work.

The old one wasn't bad either, but I'm just glad it broke when it did, and not when I'm sailing.

Next I guess I'll ask him to make me a tiller extension, as well :)
