Hello, great forum you have here... I look forward to taking advantage of the wealth of information, and hopefully someday be able to add some to the mix.
I just bought a Catalina 27, berthed in the Los Angeles area. It is a solid boat, rigged by the previous owner for single sailor cruising.
We went out for a sail on the day of purchase and it's clear that I have a LOT to learn... I don't know the difference between a boomvang and a fairlead
I live in Oregon, and plan to fly down regularly to spend time in the nice weather learning to sail. My schedule is fairly flexible, but as an absentee for the next handful of months, I would like some advice on how to proceed.
Would it be best to start with accredited lessons? there are several options that look decent in the area, but since I have a boat I'm wondering if there are other options to consider.
Here are a couple of sailing schools I'm looking at...

Thanks in advance for any help!
