We are looking @ purchasing a mac and was wondering how one would fair if we used it in lake superior around the Thunder Bay area. Any input would be appreciated.

can you tell us about your skill level?
The only problem I've ever had is motoring out of cuts in short choppy seas, where the engine would lift out of the water.
but this is a problem with ALL sailboats with outboard engines...
basically its your skills that determine where you can go, not the boat.

we are just learning to sail so we would be very cautious but i was wondering abou making the trek to grand marais or even duluth
