A Little Late This Year...

Scott I'm with ya. Snowed here in London Ont. today too. I have the pleasure of trudging around in it all winter delivering the mail. I've almost had it!
Yesterday I was wearing shorts! Today I went through 2 pairs of mittens!
Pending dock and fiberglass repairs, I hope to get in the water this weekend.

My late father in law spent a lot of time down there and loved that beach, so we named it after him.... We found out a few years later it was a nude beach... Jimmy, as always, had the last laugh....

Well my friend down in Hingham "You`re in" Good for you Its been nasty around MA bay this year, and windy as hell but than again late cold springs are the norm around here. There is not one boat in at Marblehead Harbor up to yesterday any way

Wet snow in the Sault are of Ontario and still too much snow in the yard to start packing stuff to go back to the boat. Late spring? Perhaps it is all relative.

Wow, very supprised that no one in Marblehead is out there yet. Maybe they are still on the dock where they wintered.

It is better to be in than not. Just need to a good day of working on the boat and I will be able to take her out for a sail.

MS is right, this is some of the best part of the sailing season. It's supposed to be over 70 on Sunday and there will be little to no power boats on the water.

Went to bend on the genny and noticed some questionable threads on the UV cover. Walked it up to the sail loft and it will be ready at 4:00 today.... Good service!!

On another front I ran the new battery bank down to 81% SOC today and before walking up to the sail loft I fired up the motor. When I got back, a short time later, the bank was at 97.4% SOC and still taking over 80A of charge current. It's now at 98.9% and still taking 24A with only 3.8Ah's left to go.... Pretty amazing to be able to fill a battery bank back to 100% SOC that fast..... !!!! Very cool technology!

My Lifeline AGM 8Ds are going on 6 years. I am ready for an upgrade. Let's talk at the end of the season.

Just hope you don't go the way of the Boeing 787 and thier lithium battery problems. Once they start on fire is pretty tough to extinguish. That is some pretty impressive numbers though.

Totally different Li chemistry that is arguably safer than lead acid, except to the wallet, if you over charge it or over discharge .......

I'm very curious as to the cost of one of those high-tech batteries. I know that there is a lot more to it than just plonking in a Li to do it right. So what, 5 bigguns for 12v?
