I own an '89 Hunter and on the first flush this year a leak appeared, or should I say it has not been seen as of yet. The problem is finding it. It seems to be close to he holding tank but not the holding tank itself. Any thoughts or ideas as to how to access this area. It is beside the toilet behind the bulkhead seperating the aft cabin and in behind the thin plywood wall seperating/protecting the holding tank from the bathroom area. Any thoughts on what to use to change the hose from the stiff white stuff for the take away from the toilet? It is this I believe that is leaking/cracked close to the holding tank.

Don't even try to find the leak...replace ALL the hoses

And the only hose I recommend is Trident 101/102 (identical except for color) Trident Marine: Sanitation Hose It's a double-walled rubber hose that's been on the market for more than 15 years without a single reported odor permeation failure...which cannot be said about ANY other hose. The online store here carries it: sbo.com plumbing

Do you have a clue as to the make/model/age of your toilet? It may be time to replace it too...at the very least, put a service kit in it unless it's such a cheap "disposable" toilet that it's more cost efficient to replace it than put any money into it.

I strongly recommend that you spend some time reading the discussions in the Head Mistress forum (devoted entirely to "heads" and sanitation systems) to learn how to maintain, replace, repair and trouble-shoot your system. The link my signature below takes you to a "marine sanitation systems 101" manual that would be highly useful to you too.

Btw...I see you've only just joined our merry little band of characters...welcome aboard!
