A new sailor with a question. Whats the proper way to attatch a flag to the flag rope that goes up the side of the mast?? Thanks in advance...

Use a rolling hitch or...

...you can buy burgee clips at the nautical stores. Also...it's called a burgee halyard. From my Navy days, we were taught that there is only one "rope" on a boat - and that's the Bell Rope. :)
