I RECHARGED BOTH BATTERIES AT THE GAS STAION AND PUT THEM BACK IN THE BOAT. MY PROBLEM IS MY DEPTH FINDER AT THE DOCK WOULD WORK NOW IT ONLY READS ZERO. IT GOES ON BUT NOT GETTING DEPTH READINGS. HELP? I WANT TO GO OUT THIS WEEKEND AND IT IS TOO ROCKY TO NAVIGATE WITH OUT A DEPTH SOUNDER. SECOND QUESTION. THERE IS PINK STUFF IN MY ICE BOX THAT I ASSUME IS ANTIFREEZE. HOW DO I GET IT TO DRAIN? IF I CAN GET THIS DEPTH FINDER TO WORK I'LL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT MY FIRST SAIL ON THE 25.

trouble shooting

The old tried and true method is to ask: how did it work before, how does it work now; and what has happened in between. Check the simple things first, then go to the complex. I would double check all of the wiring and connections from indicator to the transducer at the hull. If you know someone else with a similar one, try swapping your indicator with theirs and see which one the problem follows. I will bet it is just a loose connection/corrosion problem.

pink stuff

hello Tom. Antifreeze from what? More than likely it is a mold from dampness, wipe it up and then scrub the ice box with bleach and let it set open for a few days. john

Depth Sounder

May be contanimation on the transducer, the sensor that reads the bottom. Dive under your boat and clean the transducer with a brush or rag, or pull it out from inside the hull and clean it.

Did you check your batterys voltage after charging, if the don't have at least 12.3 volts they arn't fulley charged or they are bad. Also check the voltage at the depth sounder plug for the same voltage you have at you batterys. Some depth sounders depending on where & how the transducer is mounted wont't read a depth untill you get into 5' or more water depth.
