Last year's haulout placed my 272 about 6" further forward in the cradle than it was when I bought it, revealing about 4" of previously hidden hull (approximately under the rear bulwark). When I scraped off the old antifouling paint there I discovered about a square inch of hull that had obviously suffered a blow and been repaired with what seems to be grey epoxy filler. The edges of the repair are jagged and there are some hairline cracks in the repair. The repair is well to starboard of the engine mount and hidden by what I think are hull stiffeners connected with the engine area, so it is impossible to see from inside if a repair has been mad with fiberglas, and my guess is that it has not. There is no water infiltrating into the boat, however, and tapping the hull seems to indicate there is something solid above the repair. I would be grateful for comments. Do I put a layer fiberglas on the exterior (a difficult operation), orjust forget it, and go?
