I am looking for information on how to get antifreeze through the two A/C units on our boat. Both units use the same water pump with the inlet under the hull via a clam shell pick-up. Pump runs when either unit is on individually, generally not enough power to run both units at once at local Yacht Clubs.

Winterizing kit from Westmarine

Turn off the through hull ball valve. Loosen the hose clamps on the line attached to the ball valve. Remove the line and attach it to a winterizing container you can get from West Marine or wherever. You may need some barb fittings of various sizes to make the adaptation from the line going to the AC pump to the container. Fill the container with anti-freeze and run each of the AC units until you see anti freeze come out of the through hull. Even if you can only run one at a time you will not have a problem. Make sure you use RV antifreeze or you will kill alot of fish. Good luck.

Year 2000, title "Improved Winterizing Engine" This article has both a description and pictures similiar to Steve's solution except that it is easier once implemented. No hoses need to be disconnected which is a great advantage. If you don't have the type of raw strainer that I use, you could insert a tee into the line after your strainer and provide a hose connection to that tee.
