A/C installation in Hunter 326 I have a 2003 H326 and had A/C installed over the winter by my home marina technicians. Everything went fine except they were unable to run ducting to the forward (v-berth) cabin. So, for the present I have two outlets in the main cabin and one in the aft cabin. I'll go with this for right now, but if I find the need to put an air outlet in the forward cabin in the future how did Hunter do it at the factory? Anyone install A/C post production that could help? Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wrong Tech?

John, I am not familiar with the layout of the 326 but I have installed A/C on a number of boats through the years and cannot imagine not being able to duct to the V-berth. I've had to build plenums, drop to three inch duct, install booster fans and get somewhat creative on a few installs but there is usually a way to get the job done properly. Not meaning to cast stones here but I suspect that 'cannot' means 'to much trouble'. Get a second opinion from an experienced installer. Boat HVAC ain't rocket science. Good luck!

Where is the AC unit is it under he salon and where's the duct work where there's a will there's always a way. I have seen the duct work run under the salon seats and into the vee berth locker. Nick

How about under the vee berth storage along side the water tank and than up the front next to the anchor locker. Did you try the archives for some ideas. Nick

thanks

Nick/MKing, Thanks for the idea - it may work. I've been hung up on an air outlet on the bulkhead between the main and forward cabins. An outlet up forward may be the answer. John
