I have two A/C units. One under the setee draining into the bilge and the other smaller one in the aft space behind the cabin. It also drains in the bilge (eventually) but cannot find where the hose ends under the floor. I removed all the floor boards and no hose in sight. After leaving the A/C pan, it goes forward under the water tank, but cannot trace it after that. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a '93 400 with two A/C units. The forward unit drains into the bilge, but the aft unit, in the port lazarette, drains to its own through hull next to the bilge discharge. Might want to double check.

Lee, I have a 1999 381 at HHS, I think you stopped by our boat one evening a couple of weeks ago (P Dock). My forward AC unit also dumps the condensation drain into the bilge section forward of the center section with the bilge pump. I contemplated using the Mermaid Condensator but elected to extend the front condensation drain line through to the bilge by slightly enlarging the drain hole between the bilge sections. As you noted, the rear AC unit is way back behind the aft cabin bulkhead. the existing drain line was only a couple of feet and the condensate just worked its way forward. Left kind of a mess in the bilge. I was able to snake an extended drain line from the rear unit, running it forward, under the fuel tank, alongside the engine mount and come out in the bilge sump. That one also seems to be all downhill (barely) as well. Seems to be working fine after two seasons. Others on this site have posted more elegant solutions to keep the bilge dry using the mermaid concensator and routing the consendate into the shower sump.

Regards

Paul

Thanks Paul, I would like to extend the condensate drain from the aft unit to the bilge as you did, If I can find where it ends. I also want to install a macerator (like you did), so I will be passing by asking questions again and maybe taking some pics. See you at the dock.
