A bird ate my Mast Head Wind Unit

At the end of last season I noticed that my Navman 3100 masthead unit was missing and there was other damage to the windex. The only thing left of the Navman unit was the support arm. Since there was no evidence of a lightning strike and I know there were no bridge incidents (a few close calls last year but no contact), I have to assume that there was a bird incident at the top of the mast. The problem is that Navman no longer exists. It was bought out by Simrad, a Navico child company. They are not sure if their IS20 head unit will be compatible and it is also too expensive. I'd rather not replace the system piece meal anyway. The Navman Unit is probably sitting on the bottom next to the boat. Any ideas where to get a Navman 3100 wind head unit replacement or ideas for retreiving it from Davey Jones' Locker?

No luck

Northstar no longer carries the parts and they say the Simrad unit will not be compatible. I wonder if any of the parts would be attacked to a magnet?

never had any luck finding anything in the slip I have dive equipment and gone down 10min after dropped something and had no luck finding the Chesapeake has too many currents and too dark give it a shot maybe you,ll get lucky but from the mast to the bottom it could be 100, or more from the boat keep looking for used equipment on e-bay craigslist maybe some one has a bad display unit that you can get the parts

There must be lots of divers for hire around your area. Might be worth salvaging the original one!

Heh. Dropped a wrench overboard in the slip, one year. Knew just about where it hit the water. Spent an hour with a very strong magnet on the end of a line, dragging the bottom for that wrench. Nada.

I'm not sure that there are any medal parts on the Mast head unit. Does anyone know if there are? I suppose I am poop out of luck.
