Can anyone recommend a good, sturdy swim ladder for a 22' sailboat with gunwales. It already has Shur-locks installed and a Garelick ladder totalled disintegrated upon use yesterday. Thanks!Gary
make sure that you have atleast 2 steps below the water surface, may not need that much now, but in time, oldage and clothing tend to make the climb much harder with a shallow ladder. dangle a line in the water if you get a folder to get it down into the water for emergency use.
there is no easy way to put this, but you will just have to make the rounds and see what is available in your area, and walk the docks to see what others have done, and then decide if you have the ability to install the ladder you decide will work best for you. get a west marine catalog, cup of coffee and look at all the goodies in the sail section.
Bruce, thanks for your kind words and trepidation re: ladders. I guess you're right that I'll just have to check them out, though I wish there was a more common standard in the industry that everyone loved.Have a great 4th and thanks for your responses!Gary
