A couple of weeks ago I posted some questions about boat hauling, thank you for all your great advice. To follow-up up, I have received about 5 quotes to move my 33' Hunter from New Bern, NC to Boston. They are all pretty much in the 2700 dollar range, however, I just received a quote from A-1 Boat Transport out of Groveland Florida, willing to do it for 1800, plus a fuel sur-charge, which makes the total around 2000. Has anybody used them in the past? I have a couple calls into the references provided and I have a copy of their insurance $300,000 of coverage... Does anybody have any other concerns! Thank you.

Insure the boat yourself.

Their insurance may not cover any damage to your boat while in their care, control and custody. Make sure your vessel is covered before you ship it. The cost should be low. I would assume that their insurance is for liability, but who covers the boat should it fall off the truck or get hit by a train. Absurd, maybe, maybe not. Jim
