Hi all,
Im trying to figure out what the wood deck insert is called in the interior of a 94 Hunter 26. I am currently refinishing all interior wood and would like to remove the deck and bring home for refinishing, can this be easily removed? looks like only some deck screws holding it down with rubber gasket material around the outer edges. Thanks for the help.

If you are talking about the teak and holly sole floor in the cabin, it is glued in place generally with liquid nails and you will rip it up trying to take it out. Suggest cleaning with a two part teak cleaner, lightly sand, and come back with your finish. Suggest about 4-5 coats with a light sanding in between. Also check that the sealant between the edge of the floor and the fiberglass is in tack but if not, redo that first.

Thanks for the reply and advice, the sole is what I was referring to. im glad I didn't try ripping it out. the black sealant between the sole and fiberglass is in tact but its getting old. Mind advising me on how to redo, I assume tape off, pull old out, clean, put new sealant down, let dry remove tape. Also I am refinishing the other wood, walls, cabinets etc... with cetol natural teak marine. would you recommend this on the sole?

thanks again

My 1982 H22 is missing those "plates". I'm no master craftsman so what would be the easiest way for me to replace them? This is all she has now. Blue rugs. I just bought the old girl and is looking forward to doing all the work myself.

I would remove the tape before it dries completely. The photo posted with wood slats on the side were an add on I believe. As for the caulk if not sure recaulk..

Regarding vinyl, it is durable and long lasting which is in my mater bath. If you feel this is the way to go, then the choice would be yours. I would give it a thumbs up but would defer to someone has put it on.

No... You can go blind mater bathing.
My father's vision got really bad in his later years. One day I said, "So I guess it's true what your mother told you." Took him about 8 seconds to figure out what I was talking about.
