I haven't and I read the article too. It kind of seems silly not the change them if they are brighter than the current lights, but the whole thing that happened to the guy in CA and all the focus on the running lights was kind of scary (Bismark Dinuis). However, making the change has a number of definite positives for me...they will likely be brighter...they will not drain the battery significantly encouraging me to use them more often...they do not have filaments to break. Broken filaments became an issue in the Dinius case...if they were LED the focus would have been on how bright they were. I think that realistically the positives outweigh the risk of not being CG certified, especially in a small boat limited to day sailing and coastal cruising.
