Purchased a year ago with new Doyle sails. The furling genoa is ~150%. With the genoa out full, the boat is easily overpowered in light-moderate winds (8-10k) with substantial weather helm.

Noticed a dock mates H 260 (260/270's replaced my boat) with similar fractional rig however his boat has a stock 100-110~ furling jib.

So, we've been experimenting with holding the furler in the 115-125 range and the boat sails much better - more stable and faster.

Q: Does anyone know what the stock furling jib was on the Hunter 27-2's?

Thanks!

You should be able to adjust your trim (and reef?) for improved behavior but IMHO with our boats, a 150 is good from 0 - 6/7 and is usually a handful at 10. Bringing it in to ~120% and subsequent improvement should have demonstrated that to you. We have a 110 on our 280 but it is rigged for an even bigger main and the rigging prevents use of anything larger except asymms down wind.
