86' Catalina 25

I have my eye on a 86' 25 foot Catalina, up for sale for 6000.00. Appears to be in great shape, new sails new outboard ...but needs some love. Boat is in NY, need to get it to Massachusetts. Considering sailing it to Mass with another experienced sailor. Wondering if anyone has links to a trailer manufacturer for this boat, with prices. Or a link to a company in the Northeast who provides a shipping service. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Future Catalina owner

Hi Keith, I bought a 1982 C25 last year with no real frills for $8,000. It does have a trailer though. I'd get a survey done if you want to feel safe. The link below is for a local hauler and I know there is at least one in Newburyport. I can't recall the name. http://www.independentboat.com/ I'd haul it rather than taking out an untested boat, but I'm a bit of a chicken. -tap
