86 Cat 30 Prop Pitching for Cruising/AutoProp??

Cat 30 Sailors,On my 86 Cat 30 my spec sheet lists a 12"x13" (diam x pitch) prop which is about what it appears to be. With the Univ M-25 I can barely get 6kts on -3100- rpm! This is unsatisfactory obviously when the Universal manual states I need to turn no more than around 2450 continous cruise rpms per the formula. 2 Questions: 1) Anyone similarly configured swinging a 3-blade getting hull speed at lower rpms? 2) Anyone config'ed as our boat gone with the Autoprop? I'm Interested

I only get about 4.5 knots @ 2400 rpm on my 1993 C30. 25xp engine and 3 blade prop. 12 knots of wind, 150% Genoa and single reefed mail=over 5.5+ knots. I'm Baffled! Let me know if Auto-Prop works. It's a lot of $$. JFINCH5178@alo.comGood luck,John
