I measured what is left of my forestay, and it measured 27' 3" but when I look at the manual on here it says it should be 28' 1". Can someone please confirm or am I missing the boat? pun intended... :)
Thanks in advance!

Call Jean at Seco South in the Tampa, Fl area and she can advise as it was that company who made that stay for Hunter.

Just for grins the other day, I measured mine. How convenient (c;

Now my measurement is certainly not precise to the 1/1000 of an inch, since the rig was standing when I measured it.. ( 83 Hunter 22 ) but I had 27' 10.5 inches using the jib halyard as my tape measure support.. So you have to add a bit for the jib halyard snap shackle at the top, as well as a bit for the hardare up there and the fact that the snap shackle probably doesn't go all the way to the top of the fore stay. This measurement included the length of the turnbuckle at the bottom.

I think that using the folks that made it like CDC says is a good bet. It might be interesting to measure the back stay on your boat and compare that to the specifications you have and the numbers the rigging company has as well.

Thanks to both of you, I did call Jean, and she is looking up what I have and she said the length of 28'1" included both turnbuckles so that most likely explains the difference, I didn't have either included in my measurements. not to mention I was using a 16' tape measure so I had to get three measurements... :) adding for this country boy is tough when I run out of fingers and toes!
