'84 H31 Mast Bend Recommendations

Have an '84 H31 and the mast has a bend aft. I have a split back stay. Can someone direct me to recommended bend? Thanks in advance! Chuck

On these B&R rigs it is referred to as prebend. If you search on that you will see quite a bit of discussion. Your rig needs 1% bend over the length of the mast. For a 50 foot mast that would be .5 feet or 6 inches at the middle confirmed by pulling a string from top to bottom and measuring the deflection in the middle. The diamond stays are what sets the prebend and is usually done with the mast down.

Thank you both! I'm quite sure mine is excessive is 1% is the goal. Can they be tuned without dropping the mast?

If you have a rigger who knows what he's doing? Probably. I've had my rig adjusted while up but, it was a sideways bend not a fore and aft deal.
