The natalie Alexander, our 22' 1982 Hunter has developed a leak! While it is not serious enough to cancel a day sail on the bay, the bilge pump is kicking in far more often than it should. I have tried to see if there water is entering at the sink outlet or plumbing or the scupper but have not been able to determine. It does not seem to be. A neighbor at the marina (old salt) thinks it could be a crack in the centerboard housing. If anyone has experience with this, please post a reply.

Water Leak

Hi David, I saw some interesting information about the Centerboard trunk leaking in the Owner Review section of this site. I do not have a leak, but I would suspect the trunk and pivot area. these centerboards bang around a lot. that banging is just asking for a leak. Good luck. Mark

You are not alone!

Dave; The skin in the trunk is paper thin! Two likly causes are bolt holes holding board or crack. Either one requires you to pull her to fix. Drop your board to re-bed bolt holes and look for a crack then. Mine was where the board rubs the trunk near the pivot. Lots of stuff on this in the archive...Seth
