I have an ’81 Hunter 30 which has a leak from the water tank. Apparently another item the surveyor missed when I bought the boat last year. The water tank is located under the starboard settee and the leak appears to near the top, in the vicinity of the indent (inside the tank) for the baffle mounting plate. The leak is visible from the cabin side as water permination thru the fiberglass (no visible cracks, just lots of water droplets). The plan was to unscrew the top (this is definitely the original factory tank as it is glassed in), West Epoxy the leak and reinstalled the top. Numerous screws were removed and the silicone seal was cut, but I can not move the cover. There appears to be a white caulk bonding the top down. I may be able to break the seal from the inside but the non removable? baffles and length prevent this for the whole cover. Prior to trying to pry off and possible break the cover/tank, I thought I'd try here. Has anyone had experience removing the cover??.
