I am a new sailor and have recently acquired a Hunter 27 with approximately 6 feet of damaged Port Toe Rail and entire nose section. Both deck and hull are intact with minor fiberglass damage. I can manage fiberglass repairs but the toe rail appears to be the main clamping force between the deck and hull sections and therefore critical to structural integrity. A new or used toe rail would be the obvious solution but, if unavailable, I could reuse sections of the damaged toe rail with aluminum angle filling in the gaps. Alternatively a used shorter, H-22 toe rail is available but not sure they are interchangeable between Hunter boat lengths. I'm clueless on the damaged nose section and may have to have one fabricated from new stock unless a used one is available. Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated and I will have it in dry dock for bottom repaint/inspection next month.
