77 Oday 22 - Cushion Dimensions

Question,

Anyone know the two side berth bench dimensions? I am having new cushions made and am away from my boat, so unable to pop in and measure.

If someone knows, or can direct me to the information, I would very much appreciate it.

Best I can give is to look up tutorials on www.sailrite.com. They have a tutorial video on how to make cushions from scratch from a template. In this case, it was cockpit cushions, but still... From that video, you should be able to make templates to give to your cushion maker for custom cushions.

On another note, there are also videos up there on v-berth cushions. On my 192, the cushions are all 90º slab sided. On the video I saw from Sail Rite, they made the custom v-berth cushions with angles sides, so they fit the angle of the sides of the boat, and filled in all gaps between cushions and boat sides. Were I to need new cushions in my boat, I would use this method to eliminate any gaps. Because: custom, yo!

Hi - they are not exactly straight - there is a curve to them as they follow the hull. I have a 1973 O'day 22 and the port side cushion is 96" long 24" wide at the forward end and does a soft curve to 19" at the aft end.

I will get the starboard side cushion measured later tonight - and maybe sketch out a shape if I have time.

Ok - starboard side is a bit smaller 76" long - 24" wide forward then tapers to 20" aft. The part that is 24" wide runs most of the length - maybe 4 to 5 feet.
