I have a 1976 Reinell 2210! Anyone out there have one of these boats? I have taken the old carpet off the bulkheads and finishing up cleaning the bulk heads of the excess very tough and dry glues used, and it is tough to get off. What I want to do on the inside is paint the bulkheads then place some slats on in the V berth but, nor sure where to start. I have seen pictures of several interiors that have this on the bulkheads and I like the way it looks.
What I am thinking is putting like strips of wood and glue vertically on the bulk head at an equal spacing then I would have studs if you will to attaché the slats to. Does this make since and will it work? Has anyone attempted this type of interior retrofit? Would a good glue work to hold the "studs" in place?
