Maine,

I have 4 6V GC2's wired series parralell, with a watering sysem. They are very inconvient to get to and about 12 feet from the electrical panel, the panel is fed with 2/0.

The question is when equalizing will I get into trouble just by equalizing the whole bank at once or should I put in a 1 2 both switch close to the bank so that it can be seperated into two 12V banks for equalizing separity?

The other possiablity is run second 2/0 to the panel.

Thank You

As long as they have been taken care of you should be fine. It is when they age, and have never been equalized, that you can get in trouble..

Thank you, that is what I was hoping, they have only been in use two months, other than twice when I put them in sevice, intentionally drew them down to 50%, the rest of the time not under 80% and then charged to 100% within a day or so.

I have a 20 amp Sterling chargee, I wish you would have done your write up a week earlier, then I have ordered the 30 amp one. the 20 amp woeks fine it is just the termination for the batteries leave alot to be desired, where the 30 and up have studs.

Thank You Again

Hi Fred,

Looks like you're getting closer. Any long range cruising goals this season? Hope all is well. :)
