I'm considering replacing my 2 4D's with 6 volt batteries. What is the amp hour rating on 6v batteries so I can determine how many I need? Thanks. Bob F.

Amp hour ratings

Hi Bob - Amp hour ratings vary by battery size and mfg, but most 6v marine deep cycle batteries rate between 220 and 250 Amp hours (that means per SET of TWO, not each when run in series to make 12 volts). Hope this helps, Trevor

Trojan Batteries

A pair of Trojan 'T-105' (6 V) batteries wired in series (for 12 Volt operation), are rated at 225 Amp/Hours based upon the 20 Hour discharge rate. Based on the 5 hour rate, they're rated 185 Amp/Hours. Remember: Series connections double voltage, but no change in A/H capacity. Parallel connections double capacity, no change in voltage.
