Scribner,

I heat the house with wood and didn't burn any last winter. :poke: I gave away a cord this year rather than let it rot. Not going to use my shovel if you want it. :D

Maine in the fall is intoxicating. Yes, there's work to do squirrelling away for the upcoming cold, but I find it impossible not to fill my lungs all the way with the delicious air. For me at the moment, it's just inland lake sailing on the Hobie 16, but sailing is sailing, be it on a Sunfish or big cruiser.

It's nice to see the Mainer's posting agreeing responses here, plus more in New England. For whatever reason, this area isn't packed with people trying to take it all in, but maybe the masses are just sitting in front of their televisions (or computers? Oops!).

Maine, Being a creature of the upper left coast we currently do not have any weather to compare to yours. But, we do experence an equal high related to weather. The crap that we are experencing as weather now will hit you in 6 to 9 days.
Get blankets and foul weather gear!
Enjoy, Ray

I was on the ferry today crossing from CT to Orient Point Long Island and the folks in CT were out loving life today. Caught these ones off the starboard side of the ferry I was obviously jealous and can't wait to get home. Maybe Friday will be a good day on the Chesapeake.

Yes. Last weekend was great

No wind Saturday but lounged around on the boat in the sun. It felt like a summer day with low humidity. Beautiful golden hour and evening with cocktails and the grill going. As Maine said the stars were awesome...even down here. Sunday was a rousing sailing day with E-SE winds 12-16 then 14-18 and crystal clear. Not many left.

Incredible span of weather we're experiencing in the northeast. Been close to 80° yesterday and today. Wish I could have played hookey from work.

Sounds like you're heading south! I hope to be sailing Saturday in Buzzards Bay. I'll look for Dalmatian, I'm sure she'll be noticeable. Have a safe and enjoyable journey!

Gloucester to CCC on Fri in hopes of catching the tide through. We intend to be on Buzzards Bay Saturday from Onset, if not we'll follow the next cycle through the CCC and head for Cuttyhunk in the afternoon.
