I'm 6'4" and my wife 6'. We have a 27 ft. and want to move up to larger for more sleeping room. We want to cruise more next summer but my budget is limited to $25-30 K so that means older. I have a Hunter 27 and the v-berth is too small. No double bed elsewhere on board. I don't like the claustrophobic aft sleeping areas on most 30 footers I've seen. We like the v-berth open hatch above us and the side portholes that open on the Hunter 27 alot! Any ideas before we start the journey up and down a lot of rickety boat ladders in boat yards? Lee

Pearsons!!!

Pearsons usually have berths of 6'6" to 6'8". seems Bill Shaw, the principle designer is a tall guy and his designs reflect that. I own a 323 and the berths are about 6'8". Good solid all around boats, 10M, 323, 303, 30, 35 33-2 would all be in your range.

Thank you Al, Pearson is a great solid boat and I'll start looking at those. Lee

Another Idea

I looked at a Hunter 27 a few years ago that the owner had modified so that the main(double) berth was made up crosswise in the main cabin...a kingsize bed! It was a neat arrangement that could be easily set up and knocked down. However, I am 6'5" and my Pearson 30 fits real good.
