Both water pumps are leaking slightly on my 5416 universal deisel. Does anyone know of a reasonable place to purchase the pumps? Also, I want to replace the original fram water separator filter for the deisel fuel. I was looking at the Racor turbin filters, does anyone know the flow rate of the fuel system. They have a 60 gph, 90 gph and a 120 gph. I would think the 60gph would be more than sufficient for that 2cylinder engine but I just wanted to be sure. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rich

leaks

HI Rich, I had the same problem last year with the raw water pump so I ordered a new seal from torrensen marine, It was an easy fix and a lot cheaper then a new pump.

60 GPH should be way more than enough

I bet you burn less than 1/2 gallon per hour. The other 59&1/2 GPH capacity should be plenty for what recirculates back to the tank.

Thanks

Thanks Phil for the info, it is much appreciated. I will definitely try the seal since the pump is about $361.00 which to me is just unbelievabe. That pump was just $250.00 last year. A waterpump for a car is about 1/3 the price and takes much higher RPM's and many more miles. They definitley take advantage of us boaters. Thanks also to Richard, I figured pretty much the same thing. I don't even think my deisel uses 1/2 gallon per hour.
