Greetings Can anyone educate me on how I can get more power out of a 5411 with 2000 hours. I recently removed the head for a valve job and replaced the high pressure fuel pump. I have noticed there are covered adjustment nuts on either side of the injector pump on the engine (front and back). Does this have anything to do with increasing the power? Iam getting 4 knots and before the work I was getting 6.3 knots. I want the 6.3 back!

5411 power

If you had 6.3 kts, did some work and ended up with 4 kts, you had better review the work that you did. A valve job could end up with misadjusted valves. A new fuel HP fuel pump must be installed with the proper timing. The covered nuts on the HP pump are for your protection. these are preset on a test machine by the pump builder. They control the speeds on your engine so that it won't hurt itself. It is almost certain that your problem is not there. At 2000 hours the engine should not have required a valve job, much less a new HP pump. You didn't say why you did these two things. Did the 4kts come before the attempted repairs? We would love to help but the info is a little sketchy.
