You have to look at what is going on, your sailing a boat in a qualifier race to do a transatlantic crossing in a 21 foot boat.If you cancel the real race its a hell of a trip back to the dock. These guys have to develop skills and equipment to make these crossing, It is not a game for the meek.I believe all who participated in that event came away with more realistic expectation on what it could be like in the transat.Its not often that race organizers cancel a race after it starts for weather. It is a skippers call to decide what he can do. thats the nature of the sport!
