You have to look at what is going on, your sailing a boat in a qualifier race to do a transatlantic crossing in a 21 foot boat. If you cancel the real race its a hell of a trip back to the dock. These guys have to develop skills and equipment to make these crossing, It is not a game for the meek. I believe all who participated in that event came away with more realistic expectation on what it could be like in the transat. Its not often that race organizers cancel a race after it starts for weather. It is a skippers call to decide what he can do. thats the nature of the sport!
