Okay it’s been too long since I entered. Lake Stevens $50 Boat Race is July 26th. I started rebuilding the boat my daughter raced in. I’m hoping for some competition. Entries have dropped back the last couple of years and the race organizer asked me to build a boat to make sure we have enough boats for a race. This would be a great grandparent and grandkid, or parent & child project.
Boats need to be worth less than $50 for all materials that make up the boat. Naturally this leads to lots of re-cycled parts.

If you look at past race photos you can see some folks get real creative.
The boat is sloop rigged but it’s a downwind race. Now I’m thinking vinyl 0.5 mil spinnaker. What are your cheapo ideas???
