I just looked at a 2003 Hunter 260. I asked the dealer about the factory 5 year hull warrantee which I understand the boat should have. The dealer seemed totally ignorant of this which I thought strange. He said I would have to talk to the Hunter Factory and I am just wondering if this is normal. Should a Hunter 260 still be under a 5 year Warrentee or am I all wet. Thanks for any help. Tip Thienes

My memory...

of this is that the 5 years is against hull blistering. Maybe someone with their paperwork can confirm this.

Yes

If the boat is new even though it's an 03 model, it will have the five year factory warranty. I'm a bit puzzled as to why the dealer seemed ignorant about this. This should be a major selling point vs used boats. His/her ignorance would leave me to belive the dealer isn't very knowledgeable or the boat isn't new. If the boat was purchased in 03, then it should have roughly 3 years left on the waranty depending on purchase date. I bought my 02 260 in august of 01, so my waranty began at the purchase date and will end in august of 06. I would think you could collect the hull ID number and contact Hunter and ask them if the boat has been sold if there is any reason to belive the boat isn't new. Best of luck.

Blisters Only

The 5 warranty is for blistering,if there is any other problems with the fiberglass its 1 year so check the boat over for any other problems and how the dealer will deal with you. nick
