5 HP Nissan

My engine will start on the first pull even if I haven't used it for weeks. I run it for about 20 minutes and shut it down. After a few hours of sailing it's time to turn her back on again. It can take 10 to 15 pulls before it will come to life.
Anyone else have the same situation with their Nissans?

Are you pumping the bulb to fill the bowl again? It's possible that the fuel is evaporating while you sail and it needs to be primed.

Two good ideas. I'll try them out tomorrow and let you know if the problem goes away.
Thanks,

I haven't started my Nissan 5 HP outboard for almost three years - since I have been using a Torqeedo Cruise 2.0 electric motor. I keep it on a mooring and recharge the 4 GC2 golf cart batteries with a 100 watt solar panel. The joys of electric power for day sailing.

I should try to start the Nissan to see how it still runs...
